Presentation
The Slovenian-Taiwan Friendship Association is a voluntary, independent and non-profit association of private individuals who have united in order to encourage co-operation between the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of China (Taiwan) in the cultural, economic and scientific-educational fields.
Following the initiative which was submitted on 11 June 1997, the Association was formally established on 14 October 1997. The Association is presided over by Dr. Mihael Brejc who is assisted by members of the Administrative Board and the Supervisory Board in accordance with the Statute.
The mission, main goals and tasks of the Association are:
- to maintain and foster friendly relations between the citizens of the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of China (Taiwan);
- to encourage cultural, economic and scientific-educational co-operation;
- to ensure the promotion of the Republic of Slovenia in the Republic of China (Taiwan) and vice versa through the organisation of discussions, round tables, seminars, exhibitions, cultural evenings, culinary presentations, concerts etc.;
- to organise professional, study and cultural visits and exchanges;
- to encourage other forms of co-operation in the framework of information and documentation activities, libraries, cinemas, archives etc.;
